The beauty of wireless Internet...
This morning's keynote was Elliott Masie, eLearning guru. His newest project is the use of Word Clouds for learning. More on this later...
The conference is being attended by approximately 1000 people from all over the US with international attendees sprinkled among us. The event is being held at the new Hyatt in downtown Denver, CO. By the way, this is a beautiful hotel for conferences.
Many of my fellow association colleagues are at The Center for Association Leadership for the Technology Conference being held today and tomorrow. Wouldn't it be cool if we could connect this blog with those who are there and interested in eLearning? But I digress....
It is Tuesday, Jan. 31st and I am sitting in a session on "Podcasting"
- a hot topic and thus standing room only at this point. The presenter, Lee Kraus
works for a company called IRC Learning. The firm is using podcasting
for several different purposes, including corporate updates, training
of new employees, etc. This session is a primer on creating podcasts.
It will be really fantastic when sessions on podcasting move from the
how-to's to practical implementation.
This conference is really targeted to those of us who are in the weeds developing various eLearning and education technology programs. There are lots of hands on sessions regarding development of courses in various technologies, there is an expo hall (relatively small compared to some of the larger eLearning conferences) but it is a targeted and useful hall with the ability to see some new technologies.
More from ASTD's TechKnowledge Conference later today!
